Hello everyone,

“Adding value will increase your business”

That is a statement that I have heard upwards of a dozen times within the past few weeks just by casually watching videos and reading books on success. I’m sure I have read or heard this message before, but it has only recently stood out at me so clearly.

I know adding value is good, but what does adding value mean? Being more valuable. Yah I understand that, but how can anyone add more value to their business? Aww, that’s the million dollar question.

I have recently stumbled across a realization about how a person in any business can add value and become more valuable. Here’s the key…

To become more valuable, you must learn and develop more skills!

This may sound obvious, but allow me to explain it so that you can implement the technique into your life. Let’s say that you are an author and you create ebooks online. If you can write quality ebooks that are full of information that thousands or even millions of people can use to make their lives easier or more enjoyable, then you’re doing a good job. You will obviously make millions right? Not necesarily. Here’s why…

Even if you have the cure for cancer, if people don’t know what you have to offer them and they don’t see how your insights will help them, then you aren’t of any value to them in that respect. What you need to know how to do is convey your message and have them understand how your product will help them improve their life. Another tip: Tell them what might happen if they don’t order your product. That might just scare them enough to grab their attention.

The point here is that if you are a great writer, you won’t necessarily become a best-seller. You are much more likely to become a best-seller if you have marketing skills that will help you promote your book or business. Marketing is simply the art of getting your message across to people. Everyone is marketing themselves on a daily basis. People make judgements about you whenever you go out, so wouldn’t it make sense to go out knowing this?

As you continue to read these words, you are beginning to understand the importance of marketing. You don’t necessarily have to “care about the way you look” as much as you “care about the message you are sending”. If you are in business and you are looking for partners or friends or investors, wouldn’t it help to present yourself in a way so that people that look at you get the impression that you are a businessman?

I mean there’s a reason why people wear suits to meet clients. It is about the message they are sending.

We are getting off on a tangent here, but the point I am making is that learning to market yourself as well as your business or product is a key step in making it successful.

A nephew of marketing is selling. Selling is another valuable talent that it would be good to learn. I know many people don’t like the idea of selling, but a real salesperson is simply being honest about their product and helping the potential buyer realize how this product will improve their quality of life.

Whether it be marketing, selling, networking, public speaking, designing, or a wide variety of other skills that you can learn, it is very important to develop more than one skill.

You need to have more than one skill in this world today.

More and more people are losing their jobs and they are stuck without a job. Why? Because they don’t have a variety of skills to fall back on.

I believe one of the most important skills you can have is the skill to motivate and inspire people. If you can develop this skill, you will never be out of work. People always need to be motivated and inspired to do great things.

Like they say, to receive, first you must give.

So give motivation and inspiration to receive it. If you find yourself not being motivated to achieve something, then look around and find somebody in a similar situation. Ask them what they what to achieve in their life and then motivate them to take action and inspire them to make a positive change in this world. When you do this, you will see that your motivation is back. Why? Because you gave it to someone else. The point being that…

You can’t give away something that you yourself don’t have.

So I hope you enjoyed this blog. I went on a little longer than I thought and I covered a few more topics that I thought I would, but I got in the zone and just kept typing. I used to be a transcriber, so once they fingers start going on this keyboard, there’s no telling where they will take me.

Stay tuned for more valuable information from me, Mr. Jared James

Sincerely,

Jared James
